So this is actually happening... Crazy as it feels it wasn't real till yesterday sitting on the bike and test riding it working on it I felt the reality of this...
First off are concerns about its ability to make this journey.
If I were to leave tomorrow, the bike would never make it, but that's why I'm here working on it. As I took off for the first ride and heading down the street I was thinking "no fucking way this thing will work on this trip."
I got it back to the garage and started tinkering pulled a lot of parts off it did the whole airbox everything.
And that's what brings me to this part of the day 1 adventure; the real humility of working on motorcycles and not being a "professional."
I put the pipes back on best I could with the Jerry rigging jank system the previous owner used to do so and forgot to tighten the bottom collar, I actually forgot I even loosened it but regardless. As I went for ride two I whipped through a corner and noticed my bike became quite loud as I looked in mirror I noticed my bottom half muffler tumbling off the road!!!
Yes I lost one of the mufflers, like I said its a sense of humor and the sheer humility that can be humbling at times. I wouldn't select this particular moment but it happened.
So I'm back to the drawing board on this one.
My first time on the bike.
And here's buddy working away on the bike.
