From Milwaukee to Los Angeles. What started out as a project that we could work on together that was going to be about the scenery and epic photos turned into a trip that was all about the motorcycle. The experience was dictated by how the bike was working that day.
Our MidWestward project we've been working on with Nick Miramontes concluded with the event we held here at the store. It was paired up with our monthly Coffee + Donuts event which has been drawing an increasing number of people. The featured project brought friends and people who were interested in finding out more about the trip—some walked, some drove and a bunch rode in.
Nick brought the '71 Honda CL350 packed as it was on his trip, displayed his gear such as the tools, exhibited photos of all the gear he brought as well as photos of the people and places that were part of that experience. There also hung a map of the entire trip, with markers to illustrate the days and places, to give everyone a sense of the distance that was travelled. In addition to the usual awesome spiced cold brew by our friends at Black Top Society and donuts from DK's Donuts, we served up Subway sandwiches and Miller High Life, both of which were staples on Nick's ride back.
Thank you to everyone who came out for their support. All in all, it was a great event! The photos and map are on display through the end of the month if you'd like to stop in to take a look.
